Austin Chapter members plant an area around the Mill Pond with native seeds and plants.
ACTIVITIES:
- Purchase land for wildlife habitat
- Environmental camp scholarships - Eagle Bluff Learning Center/Hormel Nature Center
- Rain gardens, native plantings and water quality improvement projects
- Purple Martin Project
- Save Our Streams/ Adopt a River
- Educational support in environmental programs through schools and Hormel Nature Center
- Assist DNR in restoring wildlife areas
- Steak Cookouts and Hog Roast Fund Raisers
- Support statewide efforts by supplying strong leadership to the Executive Committee, State Board of Directors, Issues Committee, 90th Anniversary Committee
- Involvement in county environmental policies/ Austin Vision 2020 Water Group
- Provide volunteers for the Watershed Summits (formerly Wetlands Summit) and other statewide activities
- Maintain Mower County Fair Game & Fish Building
